Reform committed to alleviate poverty, says Minister

THE Government’s employment creation reform is committed to alleviate poverty and provide employment opportunities to the marginalised people.

Employment Minister Semi Koroilavesau highlighted this during a public consultation with villagers of Nuku tikina in Serua province.

“The main reason for Government focusing on the recruitment of seasonal workers from isolated rural areas and maritime communities as opposed to those from the urban centres is basically to promote social activity in the rural settings, upskill workers, enhance innovation and creativity, redistribution of incomes and commitment to return home and add value to rural development,” he said.
